Wow!  It's been a very busy couple of weeks!  The OK ArtScience Prize has changed locations. We now meet at the OK ArtScience Space in the Creative Oklahoma Offices.  We do, however, continue to benefit from our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County.  They have generously offered the use of their state-of-the-art computer lab for our Field Research days as well as transportation to our group field trips!

Again, I have to sing the praises of our amazing mentors.  They are creative, inventive and totally engaged.  Their dedication to this program is phenomenal.  Our students have already formed great relationships with them and with each other.  As we begin discussing this year's Seed Ideas the level of trust is evident as the ideas fly fast and furious, and without inhibition!

This week, the students worked on finishing up a project presented by Mentor Kim Iraggi. Focusing on the Key Theme of Transformation, the students repurposed old globes.  I am blown away by the results!

In addition, the students were treated to a wonderful presentation exploring the ethics of SynBio by Mentor Kay Brooks.  I was impressed with the way she managed to work in clips from one of her all-time favorite movies, "Jurassic Park".  The resulting discussion was provocative and insightful.  I can't wait until our next meeting!
