Hello, OK ArtScience Participants and Supporters!

We've just had our second meeting of the new Mentors and plans have been finalized for the start-up of our program this year.  I will be speaking with students in selected High Schools during the next week and we will have our Orientation on Thursday, January 10th at the Boys and Girls Club.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Our mentors have been doing their research and have a lot of great ideas that will make our time with the students enjoyable as well as informative.  They are truly a group of well qualified people who are anxious to begin this extraordinary journey with our ArtScience Prize students.  Our next Mentor meeting is Saturday, January 5th at 1:00 PM.

The Annual Scientific Theme for 2012-13 is Synthetic Biology.  Students are challenged to imagine a future made better by taking a more earth-friendly approach to innovation and creativity.  This approach, fueled by their individual passions, has the potential for dreams being realized in a way that makes for a brighter future.  The possibilities are limitless!

If you are a dreamer, a world-changer with passion and compassion, come join us to learn more about Oklahoma ArtScience!

WELCOME TO OK ArtScience!

Dolisa Muse

Hello!  Welcome to the OK ArtScience Blogspot.  I am Dolisa Muse, the new Program Coordinator for OK ArtScience.  It has been a little over a month since I came on board with Creative Oklahoma and I'm exhausted!  There has been a flurry of activity and intense planning as we gear up for another year with this amazing program.

On December 6th we had an Orientation and Training session with DiShon Mills and Andrea Sachdeva from Boston ArtScience.  Although the training was short, we received a wealth of information and encouragement.  Andrea and Dishon left us eager and ready to get started.

Another new and exciting aspect of the program this year is the addition of Jane Sutter and the Boys and Girls Club of OKC!  Jane Sutter is the Director of the Boys and Girls Club and was able to attend our training.  Jane is a dynamic leader and with her assistance this new partnership promises to be a wonderful example of for our community.

I have met several OK ASP student alumni and must say that they are a group of very gifted and talented young people.  They are wonderful examples of the benefits that a program like OK ArtScience Prize can provide to the creative and innovative students of Oklahoma City.

The kick-off for the 2012-13 school year is set for the middle of January.  Once the dates have been finalized all the information will be posted on this blog and on our website.  In the meantime, if you want to know more about OK ArtScience, please visit our website at http://www.artscienceprize.org/oklahoma.
